CRANE POSE (BAKASANA)

 

When the asana is performed it resembles a Saras (crane). The crane is known for its agility. This asana helps to strengthen the arms and increases the mobility of the body.

Instructions

Spread a folded blanket or a mattress. Place your hands about a feet apart. The fingers should point in forward direction. The knees are raised and placed above the elbows. The hips are now lifted. The weight of the body is balanced on the hands. Next the head is raised and the pose is retained for a little while.
